President/CEO Rob Rumpke
Lexington, Kentucky- Rob Rumpke, who has been President/CEO at Bluegrass Tomorrow for the last 15 years and was responsible for the creation and development of the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium, an initiative of 12 university presidents to advance the region economically and educationally, among many other accomplishments for the 18-county region, has been named President at Lexington Catholic High School.
“It is with mixed emotions that I leave Bluegrass Tomorrow which has been my professional home for the last 15 years,” said Rumpke, “ and together we have achieved many great accomplishments, especially the formation of the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium, Academic Leadership Academy, Presidents-Superintendents Summits, and all of the great projects and programs affiliated, as well as the formation of the Bluegrass Forever Green Division of the organization, defining our relationship with the region relative to Conservation, Preservation, Sustainability, Land Use, Agriculture, Trails & Healthy Living, our Regional Land Use Partnership Committee and much more. I think we have provided the framework for a successful Bluegrass Tomorrow, well into the future.”
Rumpke also spearheaded the Bluegrass InnoVision 2018 Study, released in 2008, which focused on regional planning leading to innovations to improve quality of life and economic development in measurable ways. Many current programs resulted from this study.
Bluegrass Tomorrow Chairman Laurel Raimondo Martin share this news with the Board of Directors at a special meeting held on June 2. “Rob Rumpke leaves Bluegrass Tomorrow in a strong position for continued growth and service to our region and we deeply appreciate his service over the past 15 years. The Board of Directors wishes him well as he begins his new position.”
Over the next month, Bluegrass Tomorrow will be conducting a search to find our next President/CEO. A search committee has been established and will work with staff to perform interim administrative tasks for the organization during the transition.
